DataVista aims to provide up-to-date and useful information on students within the California Community Colleges and its Adult Education partners. DataVista is a modernization of the supporting architecture and visualization of metrics previously available on the LaunchBoard.

DataVista is a collaboration between the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and WestEd.

General DataVista knowledge-building information is available below including information on data sources, metrics, disaggregations, and supporting resources, applicable to all student groups included. Any information specific to an individual student group can be found in the Metric Definition Dictionary for that student group.

California Community College Chancellor’s Office

The California Community Colleges system consists of 73 districts managing 116 accredited colleges, with additional campus centers and classrooms throughout the state. It is the largest system of postsecondary education in the United States, serving more than two million students. The California Community College Chancellor’s Office is currently guided by Chancellor Sonya Christian. The Chancellor’s Office is comprised of three main offices charged with driving transformational change, and three units that provide administrative, communications and legal support. DataVista Knowledge Building

DataVista’s source data ultimately comes from the colleges and districts within the California Community Colleges. Colleges upload and share their data to a secure centralized system. The source data are then organized into usable datasets that are presented and analyzed in DataVista.
